The IRS announced Wednesday March 17, 2021 that the 2020 tax filing deadline for individuals has been pushed out one month to May 17, 2021. Please be aware that this postponement only applies to individual income tax deadlines.
Just to be confusing, the IRS did not extend estimated tax payments for 2021 which are due on April 15!
The IRS states that it will make a determination in a few days about deadlines for IRA contributions etc. for 2020. We suspect the IRS will extend the deadline but until they do, if they do, we advise making the payment by April 15.
Should you desire, the below link will connect you to the announcement by the IRS.
