Social Security Scam Callers

by | Aug 24, 2020 | Bulletins

Rich just received a scam call from someone claiming to be from the Social Security Administration, and we wanted to warn you that you may receive a similar scam call. The call was reported and recorded here.

Here’s some advice from the Social Security Administration, about the occurrence of these calls and what to look for.

The Federal Trade Commission advises:

  • SSA will never call to threaten your benefits or tell you to wire money, send cash, or put money on gift cards. Anyone who tells you to do those things is a scammer. Every time.
  • Never give any part of your Social Security number to anyone who contacts you. Or your bank account or credit card number.
