No one had a worse week in the market than Jerome Powell and the Fed. All of their policy decisions have seemed to have very little impact on the inflation data.
In this video Knight talks about the CPI report for September of 2022. Inflation missed expectations for the headline year over year, headline month-over-month and the core month-over-month. If that was not bad enough, consumer inflation expectations also missed high, the Fed has a narrow ledge to navigate this soft landing, and it might have just become that much harder.
