With the resolution of the Cypriot banking crisis, the US sequestration reducing expenditures by $80 billion and moving the debt ceiling reckoning months in the future, the path our politicians are taking is quite apparent. Rather than coming together for a grand bargain, it appears they are agreeing to the bare minimum to stave off economic ruin. Along the way, bit-by-bit, they are patching many issues that confront our country. This path is one of the least responsibility. We have united to create a country of minimal progress at a snail’s pace.
Fortunately, our economy does not depend upon the government to thrive. If it did, we would be in another recession rather than the current improvement we are experiencing! How long will the country continue to meander down this path before systematic political change is demanded?
